NADINE MERCEY
I have been working on a line of jewelry for Nadine Mercey. I met Nadine at the One Of A Kind Show in December 2007. She is a vibrational healer. She has written a book called "Deeper Souls Less Shoes" that will be out this December 2008.
I had been working on designs for Nadine for a while. I wanted them to be sturdy.I knew that it was going to be pieces that people would be wearing everyday. I also knew that I was being reluctant to completely commit to the project as I was moving slower than usual. I wandered whether there was fear around the whole issue of designing for someone else and what that would entail.
Nadine had emailed me a pdf version of her book. I told her that I wouldn't be able to read it until after the One Of A Kind Show as I was preparing for it at the time. As it turned out the One Of A Kind Show called me soon after to tell me I was not allowed to do their show and their spring show as I had shown at another show in Toronto the day before and had breached my contract with them. I was devastated...... for about a day or so.
Well I had time to read Nadine's book, and I enjoyed it and something happened that turned my mood around. The book is basically about a high powered real estate ,Nadine , leaving a very successful career ( top 3%in Canada) to be a healer and all that happens along the way. Nadine ends up working with the rich and famous . She describes a phone conversation with the renowned psychic Uri Geller. She was telling Uri about how the numbers 11 11 had followed her all her life. He responded by telling her that that number was associated with people who had something important to offer the world as Nadine surely had.
I had always noticed synchronicities as potentially important Guidance and I really feel that the synchronicities here are just that for me. When they happened my mood became one of letting go and remembering that things happen for a reason, hopefully important reasons that the ego can't understand but the Heart can.
Here are the two emails I sent to Nadine the night I sat reading her book and will explain what happened and why my mood changed. If I had not lost the One Of A Kind Show these synchronicities would have not happened as I would not be reading her book on that night.

Another interesting coincidence, I had a dream last night , I don't remember much of it except a voice saying.
"it will be especially healing for women ". When I awoke I wandered if this dream was about the jewelry.
I just read about your book helping a charity that will impact women most .
I 'm going to take this opportunity to let you know that I've had a tough couple of days, I did a one day show in Toronto at the Castle Loma on Sunday, the next morning i got a call from The One Of A Kind Show" letting me know I breached our contract by showing in that show( In Toronto in less than 30 days before the One Of A Kind) and they were not going to let me show this Christmas and next spring. I was devastated. Those shows bring in more than 30% of my revenue and I've literally invested all my money and then some in product and wages......... I don't know what I was thinking risking for such a small show and i didn't even break even on Sunday ! ....but you know the unconscious is a mysterious thing, I'm reminded of story told by Freud,
There was a hypnotist who hypnotized a man to open his umbrella every time the hypnotist scratched his knee, when he brought the man out of hypnosis, the man did not even remember being under, but sure enough every time the hypnotist scratched his own knee the man opened his umbrella. But the most interesting thing is that the man always had his own explanation for opening the umbrella (testing it etc). Freud found this fascinating because it demonstrated how the ego thinks it's in control and has all kinds of explanations for it's behavior when there is obviously something else, hopefully something deeper running the show.
So now the good news is that I have much more time to work on our project and perhaps my unconscious wanted that more than my ego.
I still have a two day show in Oakville this weekend and a 10 day show in Ottawa in December, and I'm going to try and find a couple more shops to sell all this inventory i made but I definitely have way more time and am hoping to have a substantial amount of jewelry for you in a couple of weeks .

This was a big lesson for me. When you work for yourself and you find something that works like the One Of A Kind , you can get tunnel vision and not pay enough attention to other opportunities that may arise. That is what I feel happened here. Nadine's Web launch will be a few weeks. I wish the best of luck to her and am grateful for the opportunity to work with her.
