The Blessing

This is my 1st finished acrylic painting, it's inspired by my daughter and an experience I had with this very old statue I have of Mother Mary. On the 1st or 2nd day that I brought my daughter home from the hospital when she was 1st born , Iwas resting and I was in a kind of semi awake state where I left my body and floated over to this statue and it came alive and streched out it's hand over my head and gave me a blessing. I felt it was an initiation into motherhood and my journey in trying to be a good mother has been one of the most rewarding spiritual experiences of my life.
