About Us
Mission Statement

Our mission at The Tima Collection is to create unique, beautiful and good quality jewelry. We create pieces made from natural earthy materials that carry on the ancient tradition of wearing jewelry for healing, protection, inspiration and assistance in times of transition and transformation. This is why our logo is “Jewelry for the Soul”.

I began The Tima Collection in 1988 out of necessity and a creative urge.  I was out of a job and I felt I needed to work with my hands... working with my hands at something creative always relaxed and rejuvenated me at the same time.  I decided on the name as a shorter version of my middle name Fatima and used the word "collection" to incorporate all of my strengths and interests.  Therefore The Tima Collection consists of my collection of jewellery, of course as this is my main source of income, and also my collection of paintings and photographs by me and other artists.  (I also have a beautiful collection of vintage dresses, shells, stones and exotic shell jewellery).  I have been putting images on my jewellery since the beginning of my career.
I mostly  specialize in copper and semi-precious stone jewellery but also use various materials such as: feathers, shells, silver, brass, wire, dried flowers, coins, beads, found objects and image transfers.  Many of the metal colour processes are from years of trial and error and are one of the features that give the work a unique look.  The response I receive over and over again is "Wow!  How different and beautiful" .  There are literally  hundreds of designs to choose from, ranging from $8 wire rings to $280 one of a kind pieces.  One of the first lines of jewelry  I created is called "True Magic" and is made up of 45 symbols, all representing a positive quality. The designs are influenced by my interest in mythology, world religions and cultures and transpersonal psychology. The other line is" Earth Magic" which came about from my interest in stone healing properties and are all made from semi precious stones.
I sell my jewellery through high quality Art & Craft shows (
upcoming events) , art shops and boutiques(where to find us ?) and here on the web site.  I also sell my work at  new store front in the town of Omemee, as well as jewelry craft supplies and lots of polished stones , so my shop is called Omemee Rocks. I am across the street from the "Rock'n Roll Museum at 36 King St.E on Hwy 7. I also run  jewelry making workshops from Omemee, so if you are interested in being updated on upcoming workshops please sign  my guest book. I have turned my home workspace into a painting studio. I open my studio to the public from time to time, so if you want to visit one of the studio tours( http://www.rollinghillsstudiotour.com/), please sign into our guest book.  Please visit often as we will be adding to our "one of a kind" section regularly. If you are interested in buying wholesale please contact me via email and I will email you our updated wholesale catalogue.

Thank you for visiting my web site,
Sincerely, Lucya Almeida (Bio
